Laurie began working in the fastener industry at The Fastener Centre in London, Ontario, Canada in 1983 as a warehouse worker. Within the next two years, she moved into the front office as the Inventory Control person. Within the next year, she was moved into the Customer Service department. While taking time to learn all she could about the fasteners and applications for their use, she began to excel in all aspects of the business and in 1990, became the London Branch Manager. London soon became The Fastener Centre's most productive branch.

In 1996, the decision was made to close the branch and soon after "Laurie's Fasteners" was born. After only six months in business, Laurie was approached by C.T.F. Supply and asked to work as their London Branch Manager. Laurie accepted the offer and on October 1, 1996 opened the London Branch for C.T.F. Supply.

In 2006, C.T.F. was purchased by H D Supply and upon choosing not to participate in the management contract with the new owners, Laurie found herself an entrepreneur once again. With the continued support by her loyal customers "Laurie's Fasteners" was born again and opened it's doors on July 17, 2006.

Gary Bower joined the team in May, 2009. He brings with him over 40 years experience in the industry and is well known behind the counter.
